Long Drawn

auntie why did you have to die

why cant i say goodbye

your in my dreams every night

i know that it must be a sign

you love me and i love you

so to hell with feeling so blue

i'll scuff out that dusty old line

declare the open road to be mine

its a long drawn ride

ill keep you posted in good time

the happy drifter says hello

he and dylan are humming real slow

oh i could really use a drink right now

i could really use a smoke

oh bob baby i could really use a midnight toke

we can jam until the sunrise

we can play all night

dazzle me mister tambourine

it could really be so tight

its a long drawn now

hear the laughter its so loud

we can head down town

and play to the open crowd

light up the stage please

and let it burn so good

all the drinks are on me unless we get them free

hear the cheers and embrace the tears

and then head home

follow the breeze and the fresh cut leaves

where ever they may roam

hoppin on that dusty ol freight

gettin beat in the sand

once you pass by that boarderline

you hold your freedom in your hand

auntie i miss my sweet lilypad

got to be the sweetest thing ive ever had

im getting tangled up in the blue

oh darling baby im comming home to you

its a long drawn now

hear the laughter its so loud

we can head down town

and play for the open crowd
