Long haul

To not repeat the past To hold on to my sanity To try to make this last To not lose myself in vanity Every day I'm slowly slipping Shutting myself off slowly Unaware of my grip I'm losing As i hold my heart closely My past tries to pull me further As I try to fight it It brings me closer As my memories sink in I can't let go of the ledge No matter what it says I gotta seek revenge For what it did to me on that day It took that one moment Of complete realisation I can stop this torment Through unstopping action It won't let go easily Which is why I have to stay fighting To live happily I have to keep growing All I have is this day Not tomorrow I gotta keep praying To not be in sorrow Remember what you said The pet is the brain You gotta move before the end Stay sane It's about the long haul To try to stay in control
