Long Lost "I Am"
I am strange and ever-changing,
I wonder if this is how it always was,
I hear the clock ticking my life away,
I see the seasons change with my lost friends,
I want to fly away from this cruelty on wings of forbidden hope,
I am strange and ever-changing,
I pretend to be an angel; but I know I can’t be,
I feel the snowy breeze of loneliness,
I touch the fragile strings of life; they crumble and fall,
I worry my diary won’t show my cherished memories,
I cry when they fade into merely heartache,
I am strange and ever-changing,
I understand that light cannot shine without the dark,
I say that happiness comes at a hefty price,
I dream of a world where these rules do not coexist,
I try to find a way to my imaginary wish,
I hope for bliss in this fair lullaby,
I am strange and ever-changing.
