Long Love Lost

Your eyes are like the blue water,

they stare into mine.

I want to be together,

but alas it is not time.

You are so beautiful

with your hair like waves.

Everything is wrong about this.

I can not be with you.

You are not mine.

For I am a son,

the son of a miner.

Your father would not approve.

Your mother wouldn't either.

For I only would have a shiner on my eye.

You have a fiance,

And mine is nigh.
