Longing
Though the pitch black darkness surrounds me, sleep will never wash over my soul
Twisting an turning restlessly, I ponder and wonder what's wrong with me
I am an old man and I get what I want, but what I really want I cannot have
There is no amount I wouldn't pay, please tell me what's your going fee
It drives me crazy and I'm going to lose it, please I beg you to stop this insanity!
Happiness is the one true key
A rap from above sends me turning about; there is an unseen ghost in this dark lonely house
From the window there comes a flash of black feathers, at once a magpie is upon my dead body
This bird will become the bearer of my death; it mocks and destroys me in heart
This bird reflects my one true being, I myself am my one true enemy
You sit there watching, forever watching, tell me what you want from me!
Happiness is the one true key
What can I do to make this right; I have traveled down the wrong path of life
I long for you to touch my heart, please relieve this anguish, I beg of thee
You fly towards me and rip and scream, you are the last thing I shall ever see
It is too late to repent my sins; you fly away with the soul of my body
I was self absorbed and was a greedy old man, and in the end greed got the best of me
Happiness is the one true key
