A Longing

Some daysI turn around and see images of usfloatingThe type of smiling that makes your eyes squint These daysI look around me and your presence is absent your smell and your face, they fade They do not go in peacethey strain my eyes at night and consume my mind in the morning come backalthough the invisible forces pull us apart, come backThere's protection in my armson my face there's a smile - the type that...Leave themForget the world and its pressuresGive back everything it gave you - I can give you morecome backto sipping Hi-Cs on my steps under the hot sunThe clock stopped ticking - you have timeI look forward Your eyes shine brighter than the fire that fueled your departure The point is,I see you.You come back.
