Lonliness

Life moves on

as we stumble through the day

only thing that lets us know we are alive

is all of the aches

the pains.

The wants

the hopes

the dreams

All of which end broken and crumbled up on the floor.

Is this how I am meant to live now?

Bitter and broken.

Feeling like love no longer exist.

I sit and suffer

watching you with her

smiling

laughing.

That use to be me

that use to be us

sneaking around for our quiet times together.

Making love while you held me tight.

But no more.

Life moves forward

slowly drowning me in the pain that follows

day by day I hurt

I cry

I still feel so dead inside.

Do I dare smile

do I dare fake happiness.

Maybe it will help keep people out of my face.

I don’t want to meet anyone new

I just want back what I had with you.

Why don’t they listen

I no longer want to care.

I don’t want to meet Johnny from down the road

I don’t want to go out and have some fun

I am content on my own.

Loneliness has consumed me and that is just fine

because if I can’t have you then I don’t want anyone.

I can’t have what we had

I can’t get that back.

So I will live my nightmare

I will cry deep inside

place a smile on my face

for all of those on the outside.

LCaldwell

I am a writer, blogger and poet. I enjoy writing and do so when the mood strikes me. I have been known to stop what I am doing to jot down a poem. There are days when the words flow from my mind like water. I am also a parent to 3 amazing young men. I am married to an amazing man as well. We rang in the new year as newly weds. Each year we celebrate our anniversary as we close another chapter in the book of life.
