But Look
I have a dream
a dream that may seem old,
but its new
it smells fresh
just like my mother’s homemade stew.
I have a dream
That yesterday will not be forgotten
To White waves of destruction
and Black pits of pity.
I have a dream
That tomorrow will be a new day
a new age
a new time
For everyone to thrive.
I have a dream
that Martin Luther King Jr.
looks down and sees his brother’s
and his sister’s
I have a dream
that his eyes shine with pride
and drip with passion,
his smile crinkles with joy
and bursts with love.
I have a dream
that Malcolm X
lays down his weapons
and folds to his knees,
crumpling with relief.
I have a dream
that Rosa Parks
Sits on a bus without fear,
without hate,
without prejudice.
I had a dream,
but look
its coming true.
