So many times I felt lost amidst words

While I believed to be in full understanding of the words I was taking in I felt LOST.

I told my mind to concentrate on different things rather than the thoughts that floated inside my head.

I read books and I read poems

I tried to make sense of the feelings that I felt and to understand the thoughts that roamed so clearly in my brain.

I wanted to see if someone understood what it was or what it meant.

I wanted the solution to come out, I wanted to be found.

Nothing changed.

I saw the words made of ink stamped on the page but the full meaning wouldn't unfold before me

Nothing seemed to make sense anymore

I was lost.

I decided the words of other poets were not enough so I made my own.

I wrote and I wrote

I was lost.

I so desperately wrote of the help I neededandwanted but not 1 person saw.

Then I LOOKED...

I saw that what I couldn't understand was written before me.

I saw that the words I wrote down were words I needed to HEAR before I could take action.

In my poems and letters I let go of my pride

I decided it was OKAY to take the hand before me and let them help me.

Amidst the darkness I had seen a light.

I was lost

BUT

ALL

I

HAD

TO

DO

WAS
