Look Beyond the Curtain

The human mind is fascinating

It is filled thoughts of exaggeration

To each their own are thoughts alone

For dreams and emotions it is a home

But with a home a basement lay

Monsters deep down that wait the day

To rise to the surface, and free themselves

To ruin the home where the happy thoughts dwell

Do we fight those monsters or let them thrive

Should we end their lives or leave them alive

This is the mind of a troubled soul, one abused and scorned

We think rotten of them but have been warned

Warned through false tears and fake smiles

So broad and obvious and seen for miles

If only we listened and acted with haste

Before the mind had been marked as waste

It is time we help and heal those hurting

It is time we look beyond the curtain
