Look Beyond Me
What do you think when you first see me?
Do you automatically judge me?
Do you think that I am not worth looking into
Or maybe even getting to know?
Look beyond me.
Do you think that I have low self esteem?
Do you think that I cry every night?
Do you feel sorry for me?
As I pass you by on the street do you
Stare, glance, or do you even care?
Do you judge me
Feel sorry for me
Or immediatley care for me as another human being
I don't need nor want your judgement or pity
But I do need your friendship
Your companianship
Your love
Genuinely
And for you to look beyond me..
The Physical Me
this poem is dedicated to
people who judge at first sight
before they've seen the light
of my tortured soul
Look Beyond Me
