The Look in Her Eyes
The look in her eyes are intense with pain;
She screams in the night, longing for the end;
She stares out the window watching the rain;
Hoping the hurt she feels might someday bend.
There is no color left in her once rosy cheeks;
For the darkness has taken over her whole;
There is no longer that joy when she speaks;
She tiptoes around like she’s walking on coal.
The love she knew is now broken apart;
Her fragile heart has been pulled in two;
The thoughts that swim through her head are art;
In her eyes the sky is grey though it’s blue.
She wishes for death to end her pain today;
With all the bad things she still chooses to stay.
