Look In the Mirror

Look in the mirror

and take a deep breath.

It’ll all become clearer

that there’s not only death.

The scars that you see,

may not disappear.

But the person you’ll be,

is under the veneer.

The beauty from within,

comes from flaws all around.

Just raise up your chin,

and take your eyes off the ground.

The love that you now feel,

came from the hate you’ve endured.

In time, your heart will heal,

and sadness forever cured.

In time you will smile,

as you face up your fear.

It’ll no longer be vile,

when your loved one is near.

When you make a mistake,

you’ll both become wise.

From that lesson you’ll take,

that it’ll take many tries.

But together your strong,

and apart you are weak.

So write your own song,

and mean what you speak.

Because as you grow old,

your bond will grow strong.

Other stories have been told,

so make them all wrong.

So take a deep breath

and look in the mirror.

There is more than just death,

it’ll soon become clearer.
