A look in the Mirror

Well, hello. I go by many names
And only my parents are to blame
But what is in a name
Nothing because I go without shame

In the mirror here is what I see
I see simply me
Who is all I could ever be
I see simply me

My eyes have seen the future
My eyes have watched me mature
My eyes have cried tears
Tears of sadness and joy over the years

I choose not to wear makeup
Not because I fear covering my face up
But because I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of such a treasure
A gift no doubt beyond any measure

You might be thinking after several moments
That wow is she vain for making such comments
Quite the contrary my friend
Here's where the witty humor comes to an end

I'm actually quite shy
I assure you this is no lie
My awkwardness is actually amazing
Just see how quickly my face starts blazing

I laugh a lot throughout the day
Not caring about the negative things people have to say
And really just because I love to be happy
Because who willingly wants to feel crappy

I want to create memories
Ones that can be remembered for centuries
I aspire to make an impact
And not go through life just to react

When I look in the mirror, this is who is who I see
I see simply me
Who is all I ever wish to be
I see a wonderful me
