Look At Us Now
Look at us now
How far we have come
Yet how far behind we still are
Do you see all the blood we’ve spilled?
Scarlet red decorating our hands like flower petals
Blooming around and around our snow-white skin
Do you see how much pain we have caused the world?
Look at us now
Living, breathing, drinking the dream
Climbing all the mountains and swimming all the oceans
While they torment through their nightmares
Caged in behind the dark foggy swirls of a starless night sky
Look at us now
Standing by in all our freedoms
Knowing that they will never be able to touch us
Or get past the adamant charcoal wall with jagged edges as sharp as spears
Serrated enough to kill and spill their dark liquid that we have come addicted to
So much so it mars our streets and houses like a wildfire
Look at us now
How far we have come
Yet how far behind we still are
