Looking In

I smile, I grin as I look and see

The little girl who once was me.

We have all done that,

We have all been there

We all once wanted repunzel’s hair.

Don’t do that my mama said,

Just eat your dinner and get to bed.

I used to pick blackberries on summer nights,

my brother and I had silly fights.

I used to play volleyball,

I used to do cheer

I used to build a gingerbread house every year.

You never did realize that day was the day,

Where all those good memories would fade far away.

Hopefully I’ll learn more about myself every now and then

But for now I know plenty from simply looking in.
