Looking At

I look out at the distance

I look out at the distance

I see her looking at me

I see him gazing at me

Her with her luscious hair and clean clothes

Him with his ragged mane and torn garments

She gives her napkin to me

I reach my handkerchief out to him

I take it

    He takes it

Will you help?

    I will help

One kind word

    Is all it takes

One

    Step

        At a time.

At a time.
