Looking for the Calm Storm aka Simple Times

Stomach full of wheat and barley

Mind full of Marley,

Maybe Tosh,

Looking for ebony British women who are posh,

Hopefully they are down to earth,

None will be there at the birth, of my first child,

Born to continue to run wild,

Young Springsteen or Dylan,

Young Chaka Zulu,

Hutu or Tutsi,

Coexist as I bear my right fist

As the pendulum swings the time clock slows,

Waiting for the limelight to glow,

Still a bohemian artist thinking about encounters that are not dull

Thinking about writing with Shakespeare and Hughes

Appearing in a movie by Lee or the brothers Hughes,

Am I chasing fame or the name?,

The game or the chain,

Waiting for conservative and liberal white America to blame,

I am not here to be the presence that feeds the masses of the under educated,

Nor am I here to lead anyone under my tutelage,

Just hear my voice in the background as it whimpers,

Thinking about a time that was much simpler,

When I was five now I am 25,

Still alive,

Things are more complicated,

The same friends from the sandlot are more boastful,

Joyful,

Trying to be the next Trump or Buffet,

The next Jordan or Puckett,

Nothing wrong with that,

I did the math,

I am just an artist that sees through the smear,

The false glimmer that I thought was there,
