The Looking Glass

Sabrina Petroski

110-86-7165

Eyes open

feet slide off the bed and touch the cold floor

step after to she carries herself

to the looking class on the wall

"Goodmorning"

she yawns and looks at herself

a reflection she barely recognizes

Sticky notes

around her room

"You're beautiful"

"Stay strong"

"You're worth it"

and more

they give her strength

to start the day

A few more steps to the bathroom

she goes

and starts her quest for beauty

she washes her face

brushes her teeth

then begins the art

Makeup

like face paint

an art for all to see

brushes and paint

to make her feel more confiident

Cover up

foundation

powder

blush

eye shadow

eye liner

lipstick

done

after she's done

she glances into the looking glass

smiles brightly

and says

"I am Beautiful,

flawless.

and no matter if i'm wearing

makeup

or none at all

im a work of art"
