Looking Inside Myself
I stop to look inside myself,
To catch a glimpse of something new.
But I always end up disappointed.
Does this happen to you too?
Because I glance at my past with a blazing hatred,
Wishing I did something different.
Does this happen to you too?
I fear what will happen,
Once I set foot on the path of life.
I fear the nighttime,
In a world that never thought of a sunset.
Does this happen to you too?
I fear a boring life,
Wrought with misery and debts.
I fear never being able to think for myself,
Or I'll collapse in nervous wrecks.
Does this happen to you too?
My eyes pierce the mirror,
That reflects a face I’m not sure I know,
That catches the light, but doesn’t show,
Who I really am.
