Looking In The Mirror

Looking in the mirror

I don't see myself

Just a girl

A girl with a story a tell

A girl that wants to be heard

Looking in the mirror

I don't see myself

Just a female

A female that has pain in her eyes

A female just like any other

A female that has a story to tell

Looking in the mirror

I don't see myself

But a young lady

A young lady who is growing and maturing

A young lady who cries because she has came a long way

A young lady that's ready to tell her story

Looking in the mirror

I don't see myself

There's a woman

A strong virtuous woman

A woman of God

A woman that strives to make a difference

Looking in the mirror

I see my mother

A strong courageous virtuous mother

A mother that cries happy tears because she know God is with her

A mother who strives to provide the best for her kids

A mother that's telling a story

A mother that's making a difference

A loving caring protective mother

But also looking in the mirror I see her husband and four children

Now as I look in the mirror I see myself not just myself alone myself with my family

Above us in the mirror are God’s angels protecting us

In the shadows of that mirror are our love ones we have lost

Look in the mirror

And tell me what you see
