Looking Through the Eyes of the Victim

Into the dark void Home videos, feeling coy Siblings getting annoyed Distant memories on faded celluloid Good times go by in a flash Trying to make the bigger splash Up through the air as if we had wings Down at the river, swaying on rope swings Coyness suddenly fleeting Beautiful girl, slender as a fawn Her hand on my arm, my heart starts beating She is the one I’m dancing with at the prom This fawn I hold and caress Staring in her eyes, down on one knee Hoping she’ll be my bride to be This beautiful fawn in white dress Paying mortgage on a home Chaos! Backpacks and a baseball glove A wonderful life I’ve sown Dedicated to the ones I love Seeing hazy lights through thickness of clouds Focus begins to clear up on a town Reminds me of my childhood Lite-Brite set As Lego’s turn into Erector sets Trying to get to my family, with all of my might My heart is beating fast, filled with fright I’m lost, can’t see, have lost my sight Blinded by the light
