Looks Can Kill

She looks in the mirror each day, As she looks she hears voices Of those who told her she’s ugly And she begins to think so too. Her parents are always saying She is so beautiful the same flaws She has just been told were ugly Now are being noticed as beauty. Even though she is constantly being told She is beautiful, in the back of her mind she Still hears those voices. The voices haunt her each day, Until she is sick and tired, So she decides to make changes. At first, a simple hair due, Nice long extensions. The next day a wardrobe change, Some tight jeans and v-neck shirts A few days later, Some big hoop earrings Then plastic surgery here, there EVERYWHERE! When it’s all said and done, She looks in the mirror and sees A complete stranger She killed what use to be, She killed what could have been, She killed her natural beauty.
