Looks To Deceive

What you see and what I see are not the same.
When you see my smile , you see the joy that I feel.
Behind that smile are the hidden roads I've left behind.

When you hear me speak , you only hear the words I embody.
When I hear my voice , I hear the voices I've silenced in me rushing to come out.

When you hear my arguments you see my rebellion.

What you fail to see is the struggles behind that rebellion that built me strong.

What you don't see is the battles I've fought to get to where I am.

What you don't see is how strong it takes to be alone and to be happy.
What people don't see is I'm not afraid even when they are.
