The Loop
The night flows in like fog over the hills.
Each burning sip gives me chills.
Staring out among a sea of people
Each bathing in sin before cleansing at the steeple.
Wearing the clothes of death I stand amongst the accused
Our hearts beaten, battered, and abused.
Smiles worn out and broken
Into the river of luck I toss my final token
In hopes of regaining what I once had
A smile not yet cracked to reveal the bad
Before a heart full of love was blackened from desire
In the end I wake the next morning with my head on fire.
Each day repeating like the night prior.
