Lord, Please Rescue Me

Lord, please rescue me. I'm trapped in a world full of chaos and animosity. It's so hard for me to think; I get a headache every single time I blink. [no winks] Who am I to say this life stinks? Lord, please rescue me. I feel like a slave to the devil; that's a nightmare I dare not dream. Every time I wake up, I want to scream. Where would I be if I didn't have you on my team? Lord, please rescue me. In you, I seek peace. [that surpasses all understanding] Sometimes I dread living in reality. What is the key to your strategy? Lord, please rescue me. I realize life isn't easy. But if life was a joyride, I'd take the highway [believe me]. It's like I hit a road block, can You create a detour for me? Lord, please rescue me. In this process, teach me. Teach me how to swallow my pride, so I can speak clearly. Teach me how to protect my thoughts, so I don't grow weary. Teach me how to break free, so I won't shut out my destiny. Teach me how to compose myself, [be anxious for nothing] so I can absorb your mercy. Lord, please rescue me.
