The Lord's Strength
Throughout my life, I fell hard to the ground
The pain inside was unbearable, the fear and stress that made my head pound
The hot tears that rolled down my face
I felt everyone else was leading, but I was the only one losing the race
I felt the whole world sitting on my shoulders
I might as well have been carrying steel boulders
Once and a while I reached a point
Where I couldn't carry on, my whole body felt broken every bone and joint
I felt like a failure nothing I did was right
Every moment I felt I was losing an endless fight
I looked up to the sky knowing that He was there
I cried out in pain and sorrow for I knew He cared.
"Lord!" My eyes were full of tears
"I don't know where my path is going, I am imprisoned by these fears!"
He seemed to hear me as I saw him holding me tight
I cried even harder for I wished to share in his light
"My child do not despair, for I know your struggles but never think I don't care"
"I see in you the strength and heart, that bestowed to you in your mother's womb"
"And I know you believe the story, of how salvation came from that empty tomb."
"So I say don't give up, use that strength in you"
"Rember that no matter what happens, I shall tell you what to do"
"Now trust me, and do not despair for know that no matter what you go through, for you I am always there."
"So I say drop your burdens, they are not good use of your strength"
"But let me carry them for you, and let me guide you a great length"
"Just follow me my child, and you shall see"
"That all true inspiration and strength comes from Me"
I felt stronger, his comforting words like a refreshing spring
Though I would and still face struggles, I shall let my voice ring
I wish to do my best, even through my flaws
For I know God shall use me to fulfill his laws.
No matter what I face, a path that is successful or flawed
I must remember that my strength and inspiration all comes from God
