On Losing

I sit in my class

We talk and talk but no one acts.

Came back from a competition

Complaits say it was rigged.

I couldn't believe my eyes

When they said we nearly died.

I felt so alone

From my skin to my bones.

The framers never intended this

But how could we know what they wanted?

We weren't there.

We aren't there.

We don't know what's happening.

We just want to win.

We want a fighting chance.

But that has just slipped from our grasp.

Raucous caucus.

Volatile.

Tumultuous.
