Losing To The Dark

I Know Darkness

Darkness is everywhere.

On the ground and in the air,

It springs forth from icy souls

And it grows and grows and grows.

With each hateful though,

With each child’s cry,

Darkness spins its lullaby.

And with this darkness

Comes sorrow and pain.

I regret to inform,

They know me by name.

And just when I think

There’s a sliver of light,

Darkness comes and obscures my sight.

Now dear reader,

Do take this to heart.

Remember the light,

Or you’ll lose to the Dark.
