The Loss

Life has been pretty hard

In the past couple years

They have been ful of so much sadness

And uncountable tears

When I first found out

That Jocelyn was gone;

I really couldn't believe

That she had actually moved on

On that dreadful march day

When she took herself away from me

I refused to believe it was true

And there was no way that it could be.

Later that year

At the beginning of school

My world stopped turning again

Why must life be so cruel?

I stopped being able to comprehend

Or even to feel

It happened again,

There is no way its real.

There are many things,

I regret to say,

That I took for granted

And let slip away

If I could go back

And said one thing different

Maybe things would have changed

And they wouldn't have been so distant

In the past 18 months

With the many things I've learned

People dont recieve all the kindness

That they have deserved and earned

A crazy inner world

And a misunderstood mind;

I never payed much attention

And I remained to be blind

I'm told not to blame myself

For the death of my friends,

But I can't help but wonder;

Could I have prevented their ends?
