Steps turn to fall

hopes turn to a fail

"life won't hurt at all"

tell that to the jail

birds upon my wall

and dreams that tend to bail

and i can't find the gall

but to wish for an old trail

i'll follow as i please

perhaps give to the breeze

and look throughout the trees

for my love, upon my knees.
