Lost

Embroiled in a state of confusion and pain,

Where dreams lay in tatters and I am to blame.

The decision I made bore a pyrrhical ending,

A year has now passed yet the wounds I'm still tending.

Immersed in this darkness no end to my plight .

A tormented soul that's ensnared and contrite.

I pray these emotions debase this assault,

My nightmares compared to a wound full of salt.

broken my promise, thought I'd weighed up the options,

selected my choice just on baseless assumptions.

I've tried to move on, Yet I still must adjust,

the man in the mirror stares back in disgust.

these words are the one thing that fester my mind,

I'm bating my breath to put down whats inside.
