Lost

Gentle flower in the ground

I have looked all around

What if you could come back to me?

Well that would make me completely free

You see, someone took you long ago

And that person I don’t really know

I will never understand why I let you go

But in the wind I watch you flow

The thing is, I could have said no

But I didn’t want to see him go

Never have I ever felt so low

In the end it was me I let go

So here I am with nothing left in me

And you’re just over there being what ever it is you choose to be

You asked and I didn’t disagree

And so my gentle flower is what you took from me

It’s like I’m covered in fire

Cause I’m not what you desire

I wanted you to lift me higher

But instead you cut me like a wire

Gentle flower in the ground

Truth is you will never be found

And that may just be the worst sound

Hearing that my gentle flower has already drowned
