Lost on the Court

Tears and sweat,

They never seem to end,

Balls pass far from my reach,

too much power than I can take.

Skill sets that I don't have,

Shaking my opponent’s hand,

Leaving upset and embarrassed,

wondering what more I could've done.

Matches keep resulting in losses,

Confidence goes lower,

Until one day I look over to my father,

who never missed any of my matches.

A constant voice in my head,

that tells me to keep fighting.

I powerfully hit each shot and serve

until I win every point there is.

Hearing my team cheer for me,

My confidence boosts,

I tell myself to not give up,

it's senior year so give it all you got.
