The Lost Flame
We worship with our hands raised waiving from side to side
But half the people with raised hands are spiritually dead inside
Why is it when we're at a concert we're on our all I do is win
Then the next day we got our hands down saying all I do is sin
The Gospel's watered down, man listen to the sound
You think waters gonna help you when Hell's flames are all around?
The congregations screaming, getting an emotional release
Saying they love their God but yet deny His eternal peace
Where has real Christianity gone to, and who was the crook?
Don't be fooled by fakers, got to read the Holy Book
Many claim to be caught but have never bit the hook
Don't be fooled, cause there ain't no such thing as halfway shook
And that isn't guesswork, that's a confirmed thesis
Cause there isn't such a thing as being lukewarm for Jesus
Nowadays Christianity has allergies to the grace at Calvary
Cause we're too busy focusing on theological philosophies
I'm just writing this poem telling you that that's not how it's supposed to be
God offers us a way out of our sin, it's called grace and mercy
Read the Gospels, they're God's unrelenting love story
Those four books tell us about His grace and love galore
Repenting from ourselves, we live our lives in the morgue
That means we're dead to ourselves
Christ broke our bonds while we were in eternal jail
Paying the sinner's price when we all deserve Hell
And all He asks is that you reflect Him in yourself
Only way to live is to deny yourself as sin
And trust in Him to reignite the lost flame within.
