Lost in the Forest

How do you get lost in the forest Do you lose yourself In the beauty that surrounds you Or is it the changing of time As light fills the world And fades through the leaves Is it the rains As they fall softly on you As they drip off the leaves And make you remember the summers you had Without worries And the times you spent Running through the forest Looking for the next adventure Or maybe just looking at the flowers And seeing the beauty in life Or maybe it’s both When you run through the stream And notice how the light plays Across the water It’s a wonder you ever leave Sometimes you just wish You didn’t have to go back to reality And could leave all your problems behind And live in that dream filled world So maybe we should all get Lost in the forest At least for a little while And remember our childhoods Before we return To the things that caused us To run away And then live our lives With the calmness We learned As we lost ourselves Among the trees And saw the beauty God has given to us That we seemed to miss all those other times While we lived out our life So maybe one day In all the chaos of life I’ll find that place I find in the forest That place that calms And gives me the courage To live my life So maybe We should all Get lost in the forest Lost in my Forest Just for a little while
