A Lost Friend

In my dreams, you’re still alive You don’t speak, but you’re always smiling The memory that lingers is the boat ride in middle school I was sick and you comforted me But why wasn’t I there to comfort you? Why did I let you go? I don’t want to believe it, but I have to Living in denial is agony I remember you for your caring of others And your goofy personality Please don’t forget about me Because I will never forget about you The reoccurring question in my head is why? Why would you do that? But there is not an answer All I know is that you will forever and always Be in my memory
