To A Lost Friend
I get jealous.
I know I shouldn’t, but I do.
Everyday jealous,
Of things concerning you.
Jealous of your friends,
Jealous of your lover.
Jealous of the way,
We used to treat one another.
There was a time,
You were my first call.
Now we haven’t spoken,
And you don’t see me fall.
You don’t seem to realize,
I don’t know who you are.
You think we’re still close,
But we’ve never been this far.
How do I tell you,
That seeing you makes me angry.
I hate you for your ignorance,
You’ve ceased to know me.
When others talk about you,
I feel a burning in my core.
You abandoned me long ago,
Forgetting the times and trust before.
I hate you because of this.
Why do you, unimportant person,
Evoke such emotion,
And not realize what you have done?
But that’s a lie,
You’re the most important now.
You represent my lost dreams,
The breaking of every vow.
Someday I might forgive,
But now I only resent.
That you illicit this in me,
Leaving me to sorrow and torment.
