The Lost Generation

Im Consuming This Messed Up Truth

Regretting To Never Take Advantage Of That Beautiful Lie

I Couldn't Help But Cry

Not From Sorrow And Hurt

But From Confusion And Anger

Everything Screams Danger

I Feel  Like I'm In A Snake Pit

Attacked And Bit

By The Same Snakes I Once Grew Up With

Trying To Break Free

I Know It Isn't Easy

Life's Not Fair And She's Pulling My Hair

As I Fight This Endless Fight

But I've Gotten Up Every Time Twice As Fast

I Don't Have The Energy To Laugh

Or Smile Or Be Friendly

Because I Feel Like At Any Time This Could Be The End Of Me

They Act Clueless

With Their Selective Amnesia

Blind, They Act Like They Can't See

It Upsets Me

I'm Sick Of These Critics

They're Like Blood Sucking Tics

And These Females Make Me Sick

They Don't Mind Being Someone's Side Chick

What Happened To Self Respect?

I Am Now Being Subdued

To The Stupidity Of My Generation

Getting High And Baby Making

This Is Ridiculous

Now I See Why They Say Stay In A Child's Place

That's Where You're Safe

I Use To Think Everything Was Fun

And Weed Was The Only Thing To Burn

Then I Grew Up

And Most Of My Niggas Made The Wrong Turn

Molly And Money

Now They Walking The Streets Bumming

Bodies Dropping Left And Right

What Happened To Save Our Kings?

They're Dying Every Night

Instead Of Coming Together They Fight

Paper Gangsters And Toy Soldiers Becoming Menace To Society

This Is My Generation

The Precious Time

They Don't Realize They're Wasting

The Precious Hearts

They Don't Realize They're Deteriorating

And Even Though I Was Born In 98'

I'm Still A 90's Baby

We're Supposed To Be The Best

But We're Failing All The Wrong Test

I'm Sick And Tired

When Is It Going To Change

I Can't Even Walk Through My City Without Worrying About A Gang

RIP Shirts Every Where

I Know That Death Is A Part Life

But Taking Life From Someone Else Isn't Fair

It's Plenty Of People Out Here I Want To Body

But You Don't See Me Going There

Y'all Quick To Call Out The Police When Another Black Man Is Killed Or Hurt

But You Bodied Someone Last Night Now You Sweating Like A Sinner In Church This Generation Is Hurt

With Wounds No One Can Touch

And We're Not Healing

But Making The Wounds Deeper

This Generation Specifically Has Lost Too Many Of Its People
