The Lost King

I sit here brooding over the memories and what will never be.

The king is gone forever and I will never see him again.

That sword of courage, who was never afraid to speak his mind and was stronger than any other.

I was raised by this king, his compassionate love for me knew no bounds.

I would follow him to the end of earth.

As he toiled tirelessly life lessons to me were taught.

Hard work, determination, and perseverance were all traits I acquired by studying his every move.

Laughter would ring throughout the house.

Knowing when he was home because you would here his joyful whistle coming down the driveway.

All things that will be missed, and never replaced.

At times I feel like a sea farer lost in the ocean or a wanderer just looking for something to hold onto.

I know he watches over me.

Knowing this brings solace.

All I do, I do for him in hopes I see him again some day down the road

and he can tell me he is proud of me.
