Lost Love

Stare into the outside

Neon lights and street signs

She holds me

It’s gonna be alright

She said, but she fades

Moonlight turns away

Its stream flickers and I ask

Why don’t you want to stay

Her laugh pierces through me

She picks up her things

One last look in her eyes

A sliver of sadness but no regret

All the things I never said

Stomach feels like lead

“Don’t go” sits in my throat

The door behind her closes

The roses on the counter wilted

I deserved it

Now on the balcony I sit

A bottle in hand

Thoughts of what I did

The clock ticks

This lightless night fits

The feeling of lost love
