The Lost Loves of our Lives
I was once a silly girl
I had no money
I had brown curls
A boy so fine came to me
He said that I was lovely
He spent a summer by my side
Everything was alright
He belonged to me
Our love came to be
He tore me up
My blood was in a cup
I pleaded and begged
Our relationship was dead
It’s plain to see
I’m not the girl I used to be
Life plays tricks on us
It’s okay to cuss
The day is through
I still have things to do
I go to bed
I’m alive I’m not dead
People come into our lives
Some are nice
Love those you got
Don’t think twice
People play tricks on us
Scream and fuss
Don’t forget why you’re here
Wipe up those tears
Don’t forget the past
Nothing lasts
Things don’t work
Life is full of hurt
Be nice to those you meet
Be who you’re supposed to be
One day it will be done
And your life will be a good one.
