Lost to me
If your eyes were the ocean
I would sink forever,
If your voice was the lark's song
I would never miss first light,
If your lips were as soft as cotton
Every kiss would be so long
But you are not here to keep me warm
by the light of our dying fire.
You are not here to hold me tight
in the darkest hours of the night.
You are not here to chase away my demons.
You are not here to calm my nightmares.
You are not here.
You are lost to the wandering spirit,
Forever just out of reach.
