lost my brother

i just received a text from my brother

that a brother of us just passed away

its sadden to hear such news

i miss your mac & cheese

classic southern dish that only you know how to make

it was not too long ago that you were selected

to give a testimony in a conference at Bridgeport about how God helped you overcome drugs

time flies fast, felt just like yesterday

i remember your smile that brings joy to me 

whether it was at church service, bible study or wherever else we broke bread you were with me when I die July 18, 2015 and rose to the newness of life

i'm glad we talked

i'm grateful to The Lord that i got a chance to know you

for as long as we were together in Christ

our memories, i'll always cherish

for many, it's hearbreaking

i know that Jesus took you away from the world i call hell

you are in a great place in heaven 

where you no longer have to worry about

whether or not you qualify for programs of any sort

you're more than qualify to be with God

you don't have to no longer be concern about when you'll obtain a two bedroom apartment

what God have in place you is a mansion

just take care of it while you're up there

someday, i'll see you again my brother

when The Lord permits me to see you again

we'll just pick up from where we last started
