Lost Myself

I'd changed

I could feel myself drifting apart,

like the wind was controlling me.

I felt as though

I hadn't been myself in forever.

I was lost an searching for a way out of this hell.

I was confused,

everything around me seemed dark.

and as I was lost in this place

I replaced my loneliness with people,

people that made me feel more alone.

it had been months,

a year now,

since I had been myself.

I hated it

I hated it all.

I felt hatred towards the things I loved most.

then, one night,

I felt it all bubbling up inside;

I poured out everything I had been holding back,

the words came out of my mouth like an earthquake,

shaking with every familiar feeling,

and suddenly I felt like myself again.

I had rid you of my life

and I felt,

for once,

happy.
