Lost, Not Forgotten
I'm as lost as
A sock to another
I'm as hopeless as
Someone losing another
Round to the demon
That has long since
Latched onto them
Onto me
Years and years ago
But now
There is a third sock
Lost sock
Another demon
I must overcome
Though I have not
Even beaten you
And I'm dead already
It's already consuming me
I cannot sit right
Or lay down
Because when I do
I can feel it
Beneath my skin
It's like a tingle
An itch I can't itch
Like it's happening again
And again and again and again
How many people
How many predators
Must I be silenced to
Until I can
Speak the words
I only write?
Until I can rip the paper up
And throw it away
Or burn it
Like they have burned me
Like they have forgotten me
Why can't I forget?
Let me forget...
