Lost in semi-consciousness

Exhalations come in tandem with the tolling bell Sunset’s orange fingers crawl across my face Rays dance above the windowsill, their stage Swirling jade circles swim in, swim out of focus This song, this song now inhabits my head Rhythm compelling, binding me to its whim Strings drawn at my joints, I’m a puppet, laced With quiet desperation, a one-man circus And these limbs are not my own, not mine to own They sing, they cry, (for you) this song, this song Grind up my bones—you’ll find wire instead Of marrow in the dust; Fluttering eyelashes, ghost of light A darkening orchid sky The edges of a (nightmare) dusk-daydream
