The lost smiles
They flash across the screen in an agonizing procession
The siblings, nieces, cousins, children
Forever stuck in time
The lost smiles
Who could they have been?
Teachers, doctors, lawyers?
Gone forever in the blink of an eye, the pull of a trigger
The lost smiles
They no longer cry
For where they reside no tears can be found
Here, they still flow free
The lost smiles
They deserve action
The time is now!
Protect the smiles still here!
The lost smiles
Their memory-the motivation for change
So perhaps one day there will no longer be
Lost Smiles
