The Lost Soul
As I chose the path of selfish needs
I heard my heart beat with echoes.
Not only did I turn away the life of servitude
I turned my back to my creator.
My existence had no purpose and my purpose
Long forgotten.
My mind became my world and alone I longed to be.
I forced answers for myself figuring out who I was,
But the more time I spent figuring things out I left life and slowly died.
He placed his hand on my shoulder as I indulged in worthless remedies.
The pain he felt as I chose crippling habits.
The aching pain of a dry soul left me mute.
I felt ashamed and saw a stranger in my shadow.
But at my side he called and whispered “surrender”
I told him “I disappointed you”,
He said “my love is eternal as is the universe.”
