Lost in Thought

A Georgia Night Trying to clear my mind Listening to recycled beats from a fresh face, tongue slicker then oil Good music never gets old I dream of my future through his words My goals surpass the vast expanse of space and my stress and struggle make my dreams Seem more tangible Restless Funny me, a quiet person, anti-social even yet yearns for entertainment from others Nothing like me Tonight I would like to know a new face, a fresh mind and discussions untouched by me I see no potentials right now but if approached I would settle for a empty conversation because I’m bored Hopeful for a pleasant surprise of a captivating topic of interest But I’m just here letting my day go Loosing myself in this comfortable warmth of the darkness unfortunately illuminated by the streetlights Restricting my view of the stars I’m submerged in the cooled humidity Time is still and I am with my family thinking of my family on campus in the next state over Waiting for me as I wait to lose myself with them Waiting for the life we became part of a year ago I drift through my thoughts drifting through lost and forgotten time Time that made me laugh and smile holding on to senses because the memories have long faded The movies have lost color and the sound is barely audible but senses allow the visions I can’t quit grasp to flutter around my head and I take satisfaction in feelings that those moments gave me I’ve thanked god today for the first time in months and I am proud of myself I love that I have grown head strong but I hope I stay in the right direction spiritually I wish I could day dream again about my perfect guy somewhere in the world thinking of me as I’m thinking of him type love like I did with my friends in my early teens Too bad I feel tainted by disappointment, False hopes Poisoned promises and deception over recent years I miss my incense; I’m guessing I’m not alone My eyes are growing heavy now but I know I will toss and turn for an hour before I float into REM without my knowledge Until then I’m Just holding who I am as I am until I find time and energy to try and sort me all out Somewhere else Some other night
